Poor

When the poor cry out, the Lord hears..

Psalm 34:7

Rishi has decided to move to the centre, which is not entirely unexpected just before a general election. Suella, the only Buddhist in the British cabinet, is gone, for now. She went a bit too far for me when she said homelessness was a lifestyle choice for some: there may be some truth in that, but as someone who has slept in the local park on one occasion, believe me, that wasn’t my choice. Most homeless don’t wish to be so.  Suella’s recent comments condemning the pro Palestinian movement as hateful are again, partly true- there is too much anti semitism on the far left & amongst Muslim communities. There is no question the Tory right is unhappy Suella is gone, but as for me I prefer Esther McV anyway. It’s a big gamble on Rishi’s part and I’m not sure it will save him, but he may have figured Reform will eat into his right flank regardless..
