So it turns out Uma Musume was one of the most popular Google searches in Japan 🗾 last year. Weather was ichiban. Despite western ideas of Japan being a land of oriental mystery full of ninja, samurai and geisha, it turns out it is full of salarymen & office ladies anxious 😰 not to be caught without an umbrella ☔, with numerous individuals  (otaku?) showing a somewhat surprising interest in cartoon girls named after racehorses. Meanwhile in Britain today, it seems Doddie Weir, a Scottish rugby 🏉 star who sadly died recently, is the number 1 Google trend. May he rest in peace.
