Estranged

You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law..

Galatians 4:4

I certainly feel that many in the West these days have become estranged from Christ, & some are keen to justify why that is so. The danger here St Paul points out. If you reject the grace Christ offers us, then you are stuck with the law. And very few of us are holy on our own merits. Sure, you may be respectable enough to manage to avoid arrest for an actual crime. But heaven is only for those made perfect. And perfection is a very high, impossible standard for those of us who refuse Christ. Christians aren't perfect, many of us are far from perfect, but we acknowledge we are weak & in need of mercy.
