So Salman Rushdie has been stabbed in Upper NY by a young dude sympathetic to the Iranian fatwa on Rushdie's life. I haven't yet read The Satanic Verses but I don't like Iranians telling me what I can and cannot read, & I certainly don't like Muslims stabbing people. It should also be noted that the Japanese translator, Professor Igarashi, was murdered here in Japan in 1991, and his killer, almost certainly a Muslim, was never caught.
