Cup

The cup of salvation..
Psalm 116:13

Ever been to a Japanese tea ceremony? I was blessed to be invited to one once. Zen Buddhism has probably had more of an influence on Japanese culture than Christianity, so far, but as far as I understand it, there is no question that the tea used in the ceremony is actually salvific. It is more of an aesthetic experience.
So that brings us to the mass. Catholics regard it as so important that rarely a day goes by without it being offered. In fact, the only day that one isn't offered is this weekend. I don't have time here to explain every detail, I'm not even sure I understand everything about it myself, I certainly have no qualifications in Latin or Greek. Ironically what was meant to draw Christians together in brotherhood has become deeply divisive as people with differing theologies argue over how it should be done, & quite what it means, but Christians agree that what happened at the Last Supper all those years ago changed everything for the better. If you have never experienced one for yourself I invite you to find out more.
