Afflicted?

It is good for me to have been afflicted, for I have deeply learned your statutes..
Psalm 119:71

So, on this feast of St Valentine, probably one of the most famous Catholic saints in Japan, is true love running smooth? Or not so much? Romantic "love" often brings affliction in its wake. He is in love with her who is in love with this other guy. Or vice versa. If I had a $ for every murder or suicide committed from jealousy or romantic despair I'd be a rich man. But as today's verse states, when your heart is broken, getting drunk, going out with the gals/lads or eating your emotions ain't the answer. Get closer to God, who loves you best.

They trust bent lawyers & porn stars if they talk smack about people they hate, but they don’t trust saints, apostles & Holy Mother Church when it tells them about Jesus, the Best Man of All. Seriously, 😳 how bad a judge of character is your average Dem voter?  But it’s not just left wingers. Why would you trust someone on the internet or on TV, or who writes for a newspaper or magazine, or someone you happen to have a blood relationship with, or someone you went to school with, more than God’s Holy Words in the Bible?
