Salvation

Every human being will see the salvation of God. 

Luke 3:6

Does this mean all are saved? Does everyone go to heaven? Some Christians believe in what is called universalism, and although it is an attractive belief in many ways, & I would like to believe it, I'm not sure it is true, & it is not how I've been taught the faith. If you read the very next verse in Luke, John goes onto ask the question: How will you escape when divine punishment comes? 

I & I'm fairly sure the majority of Christians believe we need to make some kind of assent to Jesus to be truly saved, although as verse 6 says, everyone gets that opportunity. Merely enjoying Christmas songs is not enough to find the true joy of Christmas. You need to understand, as the carols proclaim, that Jesus came as a little baby down from heaven to save us all.
